Vietnam's outbound investment reached $664.8 million in 2024, marking a 58% increase from the previous year. Notably, 164 new projects were approved with a total capital of nearly $604 million, doubling the figure from 2023. However, adjusted capital for 26 existing projects decreased by 56%, totaling $61 million.

Among 16 investment sectors, science and technology led with over 30% of total capital. The manufacturing and processing sector saw an exceptional rise, growing 8.7 times to account for 21%, while electricity production and distribution contributed 14%, a 12% increase.

Geographically, Vietnamese investors expanded into 31 countries and territories. Laos attracted the largest share with nearly 29%, followed by Indonesia (21%) and India (13.5%). Key projects included VinFast's electric vehicle manufacturing plant in India and TH Group's dairy farm in Russia.

By the end of 2024, Vietnam had executed 1,825 active outbound investment projects, with a cumulative total capital exceeding $22.6 billion.
